A Diwali Gift Idea – Cookery Books from Pritya
News — By Tom on October 28, 2010 at 3:00 amCookery Books – Pritya
Pritya Books, in an effort to document traditional and healthful recipes brought out Cooking at Home with Pedatha. The vegetarian Andhra recipes are a legacy of Pedatha, aka Subhadra Krishna Rau Parigi, the oldest offspring of Dr V V Giri, the former president of India. Authored by Jigyasa Giri and Pratibha Jain, the book won international acclaim, including the Gourmand Award.
Their second book, Sukham Ayu, gives every day recipes with Ayurvedic insight so as to suit people with different constitutions, viz vata, pitta and kapha. This too went on to win a Gourmand in the health and nutrition category.
CTW finds the recipes well-presented and very easy to follow.
This Diwali, as a novel gift idea, Pritya offers these books in gift hampers, with traditional gifts that symbolize health, bounty and auspiciousness. The hampers come in elegantly hand-crafted boxes. They can be viewed at
